Circulation Service

Library offers active lending services to its patrons. Borrowing privileges vary according to membership category. Library card is must for making transaction at library circulation counter. State-of-the-art system employed by the library keep users updated with the status of their transactions through regular renewal and overdue reminders.

Borrow services

MUL Library offers borrowing services to its users. All information material except reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesis, reports, and final year projects can be borrowed as per defined limit and time. Library users for checking-out and returning the library material

Borrowing Rules

Readers and members shall not damage, mark or write upon any book, periodical, nor shall be trace or perform mechanical reproduction of any material belonging to the Library without written permission of the Director Libraries. Readers and members who violate this regulation shall be required to pay the fine imposed by the administration or to replace the damaged material, or to pay its price as determined by the library administration.

  • Borrowers and readers are advised to inspect books at the time of issue and to call the Attention of the Circulation Librarian to any defects.
  • Leave your personal belongings such as handbags, briefcases, etc., outside the library entrance, on your own responsibility. The library disclaims any liability for loss or damage.
  • After reading, leave books on the table. Please do not shelve the books.
  • Complete silence should be observed except for brief and subdued talk with the library staff.
  • Drinks and eatables are not allowed in the library.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the library.
  • Keep your mobiles silent within the library premises.

Library Fines

To encourage timely return of library materials and to provide optimal sharing of the collections, fines are charged for overdue items. Borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing items by the due date. If items are not returned within the due date, fines will be charged from the first overdue day at the following rates.

  • Overdue General Books: Rs.10 per book per day.
  • Lost Books: In case of loss or damage, the student will be charged two times the current price of the item.

Clearance

After Completion of degree students need to get clearance from all departmental libraries before main library

Reference Service

Need help? Have a question? We can help you in many ways. Reference & research services at MUL Library specialize in assisting users with their informational needs. Basic reference service is also available at library reference desk. Qualified reference librarian is available to provide guidance, suggest sources and provide instructions about using of print and electronic resources.

Information Literacy Program

The library provides instructional programs to maximize the use of library resources and services. It includes orientation programs, hands-on trainings, in-class sessions, workshops and seminars on research tools like Turnitin, Endnote, SPSS and use of different electronic databases and also use different information programs includes following:

Inter Library Loan

If a book or other item is not available in the library, we have special arrangements to acquire that item from other libraries through Inter Library loan.

Document Delivery Service

The library provides Document Delivery Services for its faculty and students. If a journal article is not available within library or in online databases, the library can get it and deliver electronically. The electronic document delivery service is restricted to research projects only. If you could not find your required electronic resource, you can write to us at: (reference.lrc@mul.edu.pk). We shall try to find your required document and respond within 24 hours. The purpose of this service is to support the researchers in their research process.

Library Orientation

Ibn-e-Sina LRC at Minhaj University Lahore offers an orientation program for student in the beginning of every academic year. Through this program, an effort is made to familiarize every new member with the resources, services, facilities etc. The purpose of these orientation programs is to introduce the students with the basic facilities, resources and services of library

Specialized help desk has been set up to provide in-depth reference and research support. Users can make queries through

Table of Content Service (TOC)

Table of Contents (TOCs) is one among the major services of MUL library. It is designed to keep MUL faculty abreast with latest published research. Through this service, the table of contents of every new issue of journals of your interest will be provided to you as soon as they get published.
